BBJ: Beer distributors file bill in ongoing brewery dispute
The Boston Business Journal reported on the Emerging Breweries Bill filed on January 20 state Rep. John Mahoney.
The bill would change current mandates, which require all breweries, after six months with a distributor, to have good reason to dissolve contracts with a distributor. The new rule would allow “emerging breweries” — or those producing under 30,000 of beer a year — to leave distribution contracts with brewers at any time, without proving "just cause."
