Beer distributors and Emerging Breweries Bill Featured in State House News
As a result of a very successful advocacy effort by the Beer Distributors of Massachusetts in which 80 members of our association ascended Beacon Hill to educate legislators about the strengths of H.2823, the State House News Service, a news wire service solely reporting on Massachusetts State House activities wrote extensively on the emerging breweries bill. The Worcestor Business Journal reprinted the article in its entirety.
The article goes into detail on H. 2823 as well as Rep Peisch's bill, H. 183. Of particular note is Rep. Peisch's recognition of the Beer Distributors of Massachusetts' approach to delivering a comprehensive, bill the brings compromise:
"She [Peisch] said the fact that the distributors have gotten behind a legislative solution makes her "cautiously optimistic" that a resolution will be reached this session.
"I don't want to suggest that mine is the only way to deal with this issue," Peisch told the News Service. Peisch, who has filed legislation to address brewers' complaints in prior sessions, said, "I'm not wed to the specifics of the bill as filed."
